Der 53. BELMOT Oldtimer-Grand-Prix vom 7. bis 9. August 2026 war ein voller Erfolg für Veranstalter und Klassik-Fans. Bei strahlendem Sommerwetter und optimalen Streckenbedingungen strömten über 43.000 Besucher an den Nürburgring – ein spürbarer Publikumszuwachs gegenüber dem Vorjahr. Die prall gefüllten Tribünen und ein bestens

besuchtes Fahrerlager unterstrichen eindrucksvoll den Status der Veranstaltung als eines der bedeutendsten Klassik-Motorsport-Festivals Europas.

Die Rennen im Mittelpunkt: Spektakuläre Highlights
Rund zwei Dutzend Rennserien, Demo-Läufe und Ausfahrten deckten nahezu die gesamte Geschichte des historischen Motorsports ab:

Abendrennen der zweisitzigen Rennwagen & GT bis 1965

• Der traditionelle Höhepunkt am Samstagabend bot echtes Le-Mans- und Langstrecken-Flair in der Abenddämmerung. Seltene
• Ikone-Fahrzeuge wie der Aston Martin DB4 GT, Shelby Cobras, Ferrari 330 GTO und Porsche 904 GTS lieferten sich packende Rad-an-Rad-Duelle im Feld der historischen Sportwagen.

DRM-Revival & STW-Cup: Die Tourenwagen-Legenden

• Für Gänsehautstimmung sorgten die Boliden der Deutschen Rennsport-Meisterschaft (DRM) mit legendären Schlachtenzwischen Ford Capri und BMW M1 Procar.
• Ein besonderes Comeback feierte Motorsport-Profi Uwe Alzen, der sich im STW-Revival in seinem originalen Supertourenwagen-Opel Vectra auf Anhieb als Doppelsieger feiern ließ.

Ergänzt wurde das hochkarätige Feld durch die Premierenserie Formula Heritage (u. a. mit dem Embassy HillGH1/3 von 1975) sowie die faszinierenden Vorkriegsrennwagen und historische Formel-1-Monopostos.

Prominente Persönlichkeiten & Legenden
Neben Uwe Alzen gaben sich zahlreiche Prominente und Legenden des Rennsports die Ehre: Nürburgring-Motorrad-Rekordhalter Helmut Dähne begeisterte die Fans bei den Demoläufen auf der Nordschleife. Rennsport-Legende Christian Danner griff selbst ins Lenkrad einer Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GTA. Zudem würdigten OGP-Mitbegründer Hubertus Graf Dönhoff sowie zahlreiche Zeitzeugen im Rahmen der Schnitzer-Motorsport-Historie die Erfolge vergangener Dekaden.

Stimmungsvoll Rahmenprogramm
Das Rahmenprogramm bot ein Fest für alle Sinne: Der Samstags-Rennspieltag gipfelte im stimmungsvollen Aufstiegbeleuchteter Heißluftballons direkt am Streckenrand, gefolgt von einem spektakulären Höhenfeuerwerk über demNürburgring. Autogrammstunden von Motor Klassik, Marken-Clubtreffen und die hochkarätige Classicbid-Automobilauktion im ring°boulevard machten das Wochenende komplett.

The 53rd BELMOT Classic Car Grand Prix, held from August 7 to 9, 2026, was a resounding success for organizers and classic car enthusiasts alike. With glorious summer weather and ideal track conditions, over 43,000 visitors flocked to the Nürburgring—a noticeable increase in attendance compared to the previous year. The packed grandstands and a bustling paddock impressively underscored the event’s status as one of Europe’s most significant classic motorsports festivals.

The Races Take Center Stage: Spectacular Highlights
About two dozen racing series, demonstration runs, and test drives covered nearly the entire history of historic motorsports:

Evening Race for Two-Seater Race Cars & GTs Up to 1965

• The traditional highlight on Saturday evening offered a true Le Mans and endurance racing atmosphere at dusk.
• Rare iconic cars such as the Aston Martin DB4 GT, Shelby Cobras, Ferrari 330 GTO, and Porsche 904 GTS engaged in thrilling wheel-to-wheel duels among the field of historic sports cars.

DRM Revival & STW Cup: The Touring Car Legends

• The cars of the German Racing Championship (DRM) provided a thrilling spectacle with legendary battles between the Ford Capri and the BMW M1 Procar.
• Professional race car driver Uwe Alzen celebrated a special comeback, immediately securing a double victory in the STW Revival behind the wheel of his original Opel Vectra super touring car.

The high-caliber field was complemented by the debut Formula Heritage series (featuring, among others, the 1975 Embassy Hill GH1/3) as well as the fascinating pre-war race cars and historic Formula 1 monopostos.

Celebrities & Legends
In addition to Uwe Alzen, numerous celebrities and racing legends made an appearance: Nürburgring motorcycle record holder Helmut Dähne thrilled fans during the demonstration runs on the Nordschleife. Racing legend Christian Danner even got behind the wheel of an Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GTA himself. In addition, OGP co-founder Hubertus Graf Dönhoff and numerous eyewitnesses paid tribute to the successes of past decades as part of the Schnitzer motorsports history exhibition.

Atmospheric Supporting Program
The supporting program offered a feast for all the senses: Saturday’s racing day culminated in the atmospheric ascent of illuminated hot-air balloons right alongside the track, followed by a spectacular fireworks display over the Nürburgring. Autograph sessions hosted by Motor Klassik, brand club meetups, and the high-profile Classicbid automobile auction at ring°boulevard rounded out the weekend.
